Hi, I’m Nathalie Lindor! I’m a recent graduate with a background in Biology and English. I am from Long Island originally, but I spend a lot of time in New York City. I’m passionate about learning and education, and I’m super excited to be working with children, since I love the classroom environment. I look forward to incorporating more interactive and hands-on methods to teaching that I hope will help to foster a love of learning amongst my students. My long-term goals are to make policy about access and equity to education and healthcare. In my free time I love to read, write, listen to music and spend time with friends and family. “

Tamara Washington, Assistant Program Director

As the Assistant Program Director at The CENTER, I work very closely with and share many responsibilities with the Program Director. I have an extensive background in the administrative field, which includes but are not limited to managing all office needs. Having the ability to connect with parents and their child is what makes my job here at the CENTER enjoyable

Welcome to the CENTER by REACH! I am extremely excited to be your tutor. I am a proud graduate of Long Island University Graduate School of Education. I am currently a full-time teacher for the New York City Department of Education. I am a progressive educator who embraces the homeschool educational model and feel honored to work with the families who are joining us this year. I am born and raised in New York City. I went to school here and grew up here! I am truly privileged to be an educator in this great city. My inspiration for teaching comes from homeschooling my own daughter when she was very young in order to prepare her for pre-K.

It is a pleasure to teach at the CENTER by REACH!

I recently earned a Doctorate in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. During my many arduous years, surrounded only by pipettes, beakers, and Erlenmeyer flasks for company, I realized the presence of human voices were sorely needed in my day to day living. To fulfill my need for human interaction, I sought out teaching experiences in addition to completing my thesis research. While at Vanderbilt University, I completed a Certification in College Teaching and co-taught several STEM courses for gifted and talented middle-school aged children with the Saturday Academy at Vanderbilt University. After many rewarding courses with these precocious pre-teenagers, the thought of returning solely to a world of scientific research and discovery was not as appealing as it once were. Which leads me to where I am today, actively engaged in educating the future generation of STEM leaders via hands-on learning experiences. Education is a great equalizer and monumental in creating a well-informed civic-minded society. It is my pleasure to be involved in shaping the young minds of today for a greater future. In my free time, I enjoy participating in running half-marathon races, pushing myself to my limits in challenging boot-camps, chasing new fitness trends (doing my part to assimilate into trendy NYC living), and creating culinary “masterpieces” fit for Pinterest fails.

STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are all very important to the development of our youth. My name is Guy Augustine, born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I graduated from Holy Cross Prep High School, and Dillard University of New Orleans with a BA in Computer Science. After graduation, I started my teaching career at Kingsley House, which held a major summer program for 150 students. I was the computer Instructor, teaching all ages 5 to 13. My lessons ranched from typing skills, the basic parts of a CPU, HTML basics, and general computer topics. From this opportunity, I gained knowledge of different age groups and behavior styles. This experience gained from Kingsley House, will help me create great lesson plans based on the age groups. Having the opportunity to be a member of this great program at The CENTER by REACH excites me and allows me to give knowledge to those who really desire to learn. I plan on introducing the students on the importance STEM and how different subjects can combined to create unbelievable results. Moreover, computer programming has become one of the top careers in high demand, and if our youth are not able to compete in the IT field, they will be left behind. My goal as a CENTER instructor is to introduce your child to a new world of robotics, programming, applications design, basic website html, etc…. All in all, balance between lecturing, showing, and enabling is the key to my success, and teach my student how to drive their own learning.

Hello! I’m Jasmine Ahmed and I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education from The City College of New York. During my time in school, I also worked as a tutor during the weekends and after school. I have accumulated six years of experience in both group tutoring and one to one tutoring sessions. My students have ranged from prekindergarten all the way up to the twelfth grade. As someone who is passionate about making educational progress with students, my teaching style is relaxed yet consists of a lot of differentiation that both challenges students and helps those who are having trouble along the way. At The CENTER by REACH, I will focus on mathematics and will gear my energy towards making math fun for all of my students. I believe that you just have to give students a chance to make progress and everything will fall into place along the way.
